Tagwood BBQ18SI
About:
The Tagwood BBQ18 is an Argentine-style (Gaucho Grill) wood- and charcoal-fired grill that allows for Santa Maria-style cooking with an adjustable grill height.
Kacper Salzman says about this grill:
“The Tagwood 18 is the most budget-friendly option. I immediately ordered one for myself to see if it’s worth buying the cheapest Tagwood, or if it’s better to just build a grill like this on my own. After testing this grill, I have no doubt that it offers great value for the price. For the price of a gas grill loaded with electronics and lights, you’re getting a sturdy and beautiful fire pit for cooking over an open flame!”
Fuel type: The grill is designed for use with firewood and charcoal (dual-fuel), which allows you to achieve the authentic, smoky flavor characteristic of Argentine asado.
Argentine/Santa Maria style: It features a unique system with a manually adjustable main grate height (using handles or a wheel, depending on the model), which allows for precise control of cooking temperatures—from intense searing to slow roasting.
Versatility: It offers versatile grilling areas, including the main grill, as well as the option to purchase an interchangeable griddle and an additional grill grate above the firebox (brasero).
Firebox (Brasero): Equipped with a separate firebox lined with fireclay bricks, which makes it easier to light wood or charcoal and maintains a steady fire while keeping it separate from the food.
Materials: The BBQ18SI model is made of cold-rolled steel with heat-resistant paint, but all parts that come into contact with food are made of 304 stainless steel.
